The COULDHAVEBEENME.COM initiative was launched by women of the National Black Prolife Coalition, many of whom are post-abortive. We know the destruction abortion brings not only to our unborn children, but to our own lives, both emotionally and physically. Chicago resident, Tonya Reaves and her unborn child, died at the hand of an abortionist. Many of us could have suffered the same quick deaths. Each of us could say it "could have been me". We share our stories so that women are empowered to choose life for themselves, their children, their families and their communities.
This initiative is headed by Dr. Alveda King (King for America), Dr. Day Gardner (Nat'l Black Prolife Union)and Rev. Catherine Davis (Life Restoration Project).
The National Black Prolife Coalition promotes traditional family values, from a Biblical worldview, to produce strong and healthy families where babies are safe and able to reach their full potential in life. Through education and awareness media campaigns, community events, political action, lobbying and coalition building of prolife and pro-family advocacy groups, we will restore Life, Family and Hope in the black community.
